These are the questions Burnaby owners ask most often before working with us, with answers that don't dodge. If yours isn't here, call, text or email and ask it directly.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost?
The Growth plan costs $1,999 a month if you stay flexible, or $1,499 a month if you commit to a year. Add 5% GST; ad spend goes straight to the platform, not to us.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. You stay month by month and can stop with 30 days' notice. Paying annually is a choice that lowers the price, not a condition.
How soon will I see results?
Paid search can bring calls within days of launch. Local SEO usually takes several months on competitive services. Strata work moves slowest, often six months or more, but tends to repeat.
We hired an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Ask what went wrong: unclear reporting, accounts you didn't own, targeting outside your area, or no link between spend and jobs. We set a cost-per-lead ceiling up front, report in plain language and keep every account in your name, so you can always see what's happening.
Who owns my website, Google profile and ad accounts?
You do. We set everything up in your business's name. If you leave, you keep the domain, the site, the profile, the ad history and the content.
Can you promise first place on Google?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Google says local rankings can't be bought; they depend on relevance, distance and prominence. We work on those and report honestly on progress.
What do your reports show?
Enquiries by source, cost per lead from paid channels, map positions across your service area and what we changed that month. They're written to be read in five minutes.
Are you a contractor or a lead-selling service?
Neither. We don't do trade work, and we don't sell your leads to anyone else. We market your business and advise you on growth.
Do you only work with HVAC companies?
No. This site serves Burnaby trades, home-service firms and local businesses of every kind. The case studies we publish are results from our HVAC work, since heating companies were Ali's first big portfolio.
Do you have a Burnaby office?
No. The group is headquartered in Vancouver, next door, and Metro Vancouver is our home region. We meet by video call or in person, and you can call, text or email any time.
Can you market in Chinese, Korean or other languages?
Yes, when your customers search or decide in that language and someone on your side can respond in it. Every published word is checked by a fluent native speaker.
Do you work with businesses outside Burnaby?
Yes. Many Burnaby firms also serve Vancouver, New Westminster, Coquitlam or Port Moody, and we plan each city separately. The wider group serves clients across Canada.
What do you need from me to start?
A list of recent jobs by postal code, your typical job value, roughly what share of enquiries you win, access to any existing accounts, and someone who can answer the phone.
Money and contracts
The short version: plans start at $1,999 a month, month-to-month, with 5% GST on top and ad spend paid separately. There's no long-term contract; you can leave with 30 days' notice.
Most of the cost questions come down to two things: how many channels you need and how wide your service area is. A business focused on two or three Burnaby villages needs less than one covering the whole city plus Vancouver and the Tri-Cities. The pricing page has a break-even table you can fill in with your own numbers.
Timelines and expectations
Different channels move at different speeds. Ads are quick, local SEO is gradual, and strata outreach is slow but sticky.
A reasonable expectation for a Burnaby service business:
- First month: tracking installed, accounts cleaned up, plan agreed and first campaigns live.
- Months two to four: paid campaigns trimmed to what works; map positions improving in your core area.
- Months four to twelve: organic search compounding; strata or commercial relationships beginning to produce repeat work.
Nobody can promise exact numbers, and we won't. We'll show you our assumptions and measure against a baseline from the first month.
If you've been burned before
Many Burnaby owners come to us after a disappointing agency. The usual causes are predictable: reports full of impressions and clicks but no enquiries, accounts set up in the agency's name, ads running across all of Metro Vancouver, and no one able to explain what a lead cost.
We avoid those by design. Every account is in your name, every campaign has a cost-per-lead ceiling, and every report ties spending to enquiries. If something isn't working, we say so and change it, or stop it.
Ownership and reporting
You own every account and asset from day one. Your domain, website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics are registered to your business, and we work in them with access you grant and can remove.
Reports arrive monthly and fit on a page or two. Each one covers:
- Enquiries: calls, texts and emails, by channel and by Burnaby area.
- Cost: spend and cost per lead for each paid campaign, compared with the ceiling we agreed.
- Visibility: map positions across a grid of points in your service area.
- Changes: what we did that month, what we're testing next and why.
If a number looks wrong, ask. We'd rather explain a bad month plainly than bury it under charts. A slow month in a rainy-season trade, for example, is often seasonal rather than a sign the plan has failed, and the report should say which it is.
Getting started
Starting is simple and needs very little from you. Send us a list of recent jobs with postal codes, your typical job value, a rough idea of how many enquiries you win, and access to whatever accounts you already have. We'll book a short conversation to look at the numbers together.
From there, most Burnaby businesses have a written plan within a week or two and their first campaign live soon after. The services hub explains what each service involves, and pricing sets out the plans.
What we are, and what we aren't
BurnabyAgency.ca is a marketing and business consulting service. We aren't a contractor: we don't install, repair, clean or service anything, and we don't dispatch crews. We also don't resell leads.
We're part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, headquartered in Vancouver, and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA. Read more on the about page, see how each service works on the services hub, or look at the results from our HVAC work.
